Sifu Omar has trained for over twenty-five years in the American and Chinese disciplines. He started his training at the early age of nine in various American and Greco Freestyle wrestling systems, while living in New York. Omar moved to South Carolina with his family and continued training in the American Freestyle wrestling system. He ultimately started training in the Chinese disciplines of Hung Gar and years later Combat Shuai Chiao. Omar continues to train and study in the system of Combat Shuai Chiao, through Master David Lin, Combat Shuai Chiao?s foremost authority. He has won countless awards, in both national and international tournaments. His most current achievements, all in the open weight divisions are as follows: the Ohio State USSA, Shuai Chiao Nationals (2008); Austin Texas AAU Shuai Chiao Kung Fu Nationals (2008); and Wong Fei Hung Internationals (2008).

Omar works in the entertainment industry. He is also the head instructor and teaches Combat Shuai Chiao and Hung Gar at the two Combat Martial Arts Fight Schools in Columbia, South Carolina. The Combat Martial Arts Fight Schools places emphasizes on real combat for real streets, along with high moral ethics.
